Cadenilla Chauffeuse

Upholstered with a velvet textile embroidered in Juchitan, in the state of Oaxaca, traditionally used for the huipiles worn by local women in the Itsmo de Tehuantepec. The cadenilla technique is a form of embroidery made with a very small manual sewing machine creating detailed intricate geometric patterns using chain-stitch designs.
